Frank Fritz, a former host of American Pickers, has experienced numerous health problems throughout the years. The most notable and well-known is undoubtedly his experience with Crohn’s illness. For more than 30 years, Fritz has struggled with the illness.
After supporters expressed their concern over his dramatic weight loss in an August 2013 Facebook post, he initially admitted to having the ailment.
He added in the post, “I have a condition called Crohn’s [disease], which at times is difficult to live with. Then, after thanking them for their thoughtful concern, he revealed to his admirers that he had been working out and eating well.
Fritz’s longtime enemy is Crohn’s illness, but he just had a stroke that required hospitalization.
Following a stroke, Frank Fritz was Hospitalized
On July 21, 2022, Mike Wolfe, Fritz’s former co-star, stated that Fritz had experienced a stroke and had been admitted to the hospital.
Wolfe posted a picture of Fritz on Instagram and asked people to pray for his recovery, even though their friendship had been misunderstood.
“There have been a lot of comments on my friendship with Frank and the program, but this is not the moment to clear the air. The moment to pray for my friend is right now, wrote Wolfe.
He pleaded with the public to remember Fritz in their prayers and their thoughts and asked them to do so.
Although Fritz and his colleagues kept quiet about his hospitalization, The Sun stated that Fritz was discovered sprawled out on the floor when the stroke occurred.
On July 14, his acquaintance, who was present at the appropriate time, dialed 911.
After Fritz was admitted to the hospital, Wolfe’s representative told People that it was crucial to give him time and space to recover.
The Cause of Frank Fritz’s Dramatic Weight Loss Was Crohn’s Disease
All of Fritz’s admirers and followers are aware of his tremendous weight loss because of his ten-year stint at American Pickers. The makeover also had a lot to do with controlling Chron’s illness.
In a July 2021 exclusive interview with The Sun, Fritz revealed more details about his condition and way of life. Since his appearance on American Pickers, the host has shockingly shed 65 pounds.
As he struggled with the chronic inflammatory bowel disease, he ascribed the dramatic weight loss to live a healthier lifestyle.
“The weight loss is a result of me managing what I eat to keep my sickness as under control as possible. So I’m just eating well and walking a little more,” Fritz remarked.
He also mentioned that he kept himself occupied by maintaining the grass and pulling weeds in his farmhouse near Le Claire, Iowa.
Frank Fritz avoided alcohol and said that staying away from alcohol helped him lose weight in addition to eating well and staying active. Frank admitted it would have been a year of abstinence if he hadn’t had a little slip-up that lasted four hours. He hadn’t had a drink in almost 10 months.

In addition to these health problems, Fritz has struggled with alcoholism, which has had a significant impact on his life.
The American Pickers actor attributed his acrimonious breakup with his girlfriend and ex-fiancée Diann Bankson to his drinking.
In 2017, Fritz and Bankson got engaged and moved in together in the farmhouse in Iowa. But after his fiancee filed a negligence lawsuit against Fritz in January 2020, the couple had an ugly divorce.
When Fritz and a companion attempted to blow off fireworks, Bankson alleged that the guys “had been drinking.” But because they were unable to do so, the men disposed of the fireworks improperly and put them in the vintage ashtray’s closed cylinder.
Unfortunately, Bankson was not informed of it, and when he attempted to use the ashtray, it exploded, leaving him with third-degree burns.
Instead of transporting her to the hospital, she claimed Fritz instructed her to “toughen up.”
